William "Big Will" Dunn, a tire salesman who has been taking kids out fishing for over a decade. Dunn was inspired by a young neighbor who had no father figure and was thrilled to catch a fish. Since then, Dunn has been investing his savings to take thousands of kids, many of whom are fatherless, out fishing. For these kids, the water is a different world, and the experience is special, giving them a feeling of freedom. Beyond catching fish, they also learn important life lessons like patience. Dunn's motivation for doing this is to be a light for the kids and make a positive impact on their lives. Visit Take A Kid Fishing, Inc. to donate funds or become a sponsor.

For the past six years, Shirley Raines and her organization, Beauty 2 the Streetz, have been a mainstay on Skid Row, providing food, clothing, hair and makeup services – and most recently health and hygiene items – to thousands of people.

Recognizing that the lack of a home does not mean a lack of humanity, Beauty 2 The Streetz © aims to serve the homeless by providing necessities alongside the things that make us feel inherently human: a hot shower, a hearty meal, the hope-inducing feeling of looking in the mirror and loving what you see.

Carly Burd, who lives in Harlow, England, transformed her own garden into an allotment to launch her charity initiative, A Meal on Me With Love. She provides free organic fruits and vegetables to low-income and vulnerable people in her community who are struggling to put food on the table. Carly also rescues food destined for the landfill and donates it to people in need. She revealed on April 12 in an emotional TikTok video that someone apparently broke into her garden overnight and dumped salt — which is deadly for plants — all over it.

You can donate to help Carly's charity initiative at her GoFundMe page.

According to a news release from the Rockland Police Department, a 3-year-old boy's Spiderman bicycle was stolen while he was shopping with his mother. In response to a Facebook request for information, a superhero (who remains anonymous) donated a brand-new Spiderman bicycle, matching helmet, and bike lock to the police department for the young victim. The woman who made the donation, despite her own recent struggles, purchased the items at a local Wal-Mart and drove all the way from Oxford County to Rockland. The Rockland Police Department handed over the donated bike and equipment to the victim's mother, who was overwhelmed by the generosity of others.

The
Mid-Coast Recovery Coalition is collecting funds for those who wish to donate to the woman.
